Man Arrested In Castaic For Brandishing Firearm

A man was arrested near Galleon’s Market in Castaic Monday after allegedly brandishing a gun earlier in the morning in Val Verde.

Around 8:45 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to reports of a man sitting in front of a residence on the 30700 block of San Martinez Road in Val Verde in a gray Toyota with a shotgun, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The man was seen getting in and out of the vehicle and arguing with people, according to Arriaga.

“It was later updated the disturbing party drove away, last seen eastbound on Arlington Street in Val Verde,” Arriaga said.

The man returned a second time, then left the location a short period later.

Around 1:47 p.m. that same day, a call was received that the suspect was seen at the same location with what was now described as a rifle, according to Arriaga.

“A short period later the disturbing party drove away again,” Arriaga said.

Deputies located a man and vehicle matching the suspect’s description on the Ridge Route and Castaic Roads near Galleon’s Market in Castaic and detained him pending investigation, according to Arriaga.

During investigation into the incident, deputies learned the weapon was a pellet gun.

The man was arrested for brandishing an imitation firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation remains ongoing.

  3. Max Flatus you’re a Douche Bag

  4. All the looney people come out of the woodwork. No weapon, but drug paraphernalia. Another upstanding citizen of this crazy world.

    • Val Verde is a predominately Hispanic enclave with its own gang. Their graffiti can be found all over Castaic. Jack in the Box painted their sidewalk wall black: no more graffiti!

  5. Max, a shame when a person tells the truths/facts, they’re put down! With the constant Liberal, PC euphemisms & cover up, it only helps degeneration proliferation!

  6. Max, I backed you up & you put me down—-C’Mon Man—-My Butts been wiped of Billy Bobs

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
