A Burbank man is behind bars after he allegedly stole over $20,000 of liquor from a Castaic store in February.

In February, a suspect stole high-end alcohol from a grocery store in the 29600 block of The Old Road in Castaic three separate times, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

In total, the suspect stole over $20,000 in liquor, Miller said.  

Towards the end of March, detectives identified the suspect, and with assistance from our Crime Impact Team (CIT), deputies located the suspect at a hotel in Burbank.

The man was arrested on felony grand theft and burglary charges, according to Miller.

He was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains behind bars on $176,000 bail.
