The College of the Canyons Campus Safety Office and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are investigating after a man was allegedly caught filming under stall doors in the women’s restrooms at the Valencia location.
At least three separate incidents of filming in the women’s restrooms have been reported to COC, according to officials.
The first incident was reported in April of 2024. The second incident where a person was allegedly filming in the women’s restroom was reported in October of 2024, with video captured by the victim now beginning to circulate on social media.
The victim shared via social media that the SCV Sheriff’s Station and COC officials urged her not to post the video “to not tip off the pervert.”

“The incident depicted in the video was reported to our Campus Safety Office in October 2024,” said Eric Harnish, spokesperson for COC. “We notified the campus community and urged people to be alert and to share any information about the incident with our Campus Safety Department or to report any similar incidents.”
Deputies responded to the campus, spoke with the victim, and took a report.
“Another similar incident occurred earlier this month in a different bathroom on the Valencia Campus,” Harnish said. “Unfortunately, the victim was not able to clearly see the suspect, so we don’t have a description of the individual.”
The March incident was also reported to Campus Safety, and students were alerted to what occurred.
“We take the safety of our students seriously, and our Campus Safety officers have all been briefed on what occurred and are alert for future incidents,” Harnish said. “While the suspect’s face is obscured in the video, we encourage anyone who may have information about this or other incidents to contact Campus Safety at (661) 362-3229 or the SCV Sheriff’s Station at (661) 260-4000.”
