A majority of Santa Clarita weekend arrests over the Easter holiday weekend were misdemeanors.
Over the weekend, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) made 26 arrests, with deputies making 18 of them, according to the weekend arrest logs.
Out of the 26 arrests, 20 of them were misdemeanors with 11 of them being DUIs.
The other nine misdemeanors were for being drunk, sexual battery, disobeying domestic relations court order, reckless driving, animal endangerment injury and three for possession of a controlled substance.
Some of the notable felony arrests made include grand theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance for sale, identity theft and two corporal injuries on a spouse.
Thirteen out of the 26 arrests made this weekend are residents of the Santa Clarita Valley.
