Misdemeanors Dominate Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests

A majority of Santa Clarita weekend arrests were mostly misdemeanor and DUI offenses.

Over the weekend, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) made 17 arrests with deputies making seven of them, according to the weekend arrest logs.

Out of the 17 arrests, 13 of them were misdemeanors with eight of them being DUIs.

The other five misdemeanors included corporal injury on a spouse, evading arrest, theft of personal property, reckless driving and being drunk in public.

Some of the notable felony arrests made include vandalism, bringing narcotics into jail and two separate cases of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Twelve out of the 17 arrests made this weekend are not residents of the Santa Clarita Valley.
