A motorcyclist who led the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on a pursuit that exceeded 100 mph on the 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita remains at large.
Around 11:15 a.m. Friday, a motorcycle passed a CHP officer while going over 100 mph on the northbound 5 Freeway at Calgrove Boulevard, according to initial reports.
Moments later, a second CHP officer spotted the rider exit the 5 Freeway at Lake Hughes Road in Castaic before reentering the southbound 5 Freeway, according to officials.
The motorcyclist was reported to be traveling at speeds of around 150 mph, causing any CHP officer that had a visual to quickly lose sight of the rider.
Air support from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) came to assist, however, law enforcement on the ground and from the air were unable to relocate the rider.
