Narcotic Suspect Charged With Felony Resisting After Injuring Deputy

A narcotic suspect was arrested Wednesday in Canyon Country on felony resisting charges, after allegedly becoming uncooperative and injuring a deputy, officials said.

On Wednesday around 2 p.m., deputies responded to the 18000 block of Wellhaven Drive in Canyon Country after two individuals were possibly using narcotics, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The caller observed a male Hispanic adult and female Hispanic adult ingesting narcotics in their vehicle,” Arriaga said.

When deputies approached the vehicle, they observed drug paraphernalia from outside the car, according to Arriaga.

When deputies contacted the occupants of the vehicle, the female passenger allegedly became uncooperative during the investigation, according to Sheriff’s officials.

“A quick struggle ensued between her and two deputies,” Arriaga said.

The deputies were eventually able to detain the suspect, however, one deputy suffered minor injuries.

Drug paraphernalia was recovered from the vehicle.

Angel Eskillian, 23, of Glendale, was arrested for resisting arrest, a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, Arriaga added.

No further information was made available on the driver.

Eskillian was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $25,250, according to arrest records.

  1. She’s Armenian, not Hispanic.
I hope the deputy is OK.

  2. Wonder if she’s part of the Armenian/Russian Mafia?!

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
