Nearly 50 Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests Reported By Law Enforcement

47 arrests were reported in Santa Clarita over the weekend by deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and California Highway Patrol.

The total number of charges for the weekend came in at 47, a notable increase from the 32 arrests the week prior, according to arrest logs from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

A majority of the 47 arrests were drug and alcohol-related, with 31 arrests, or 66 percent.

The 31 arrests were composed of 14 driving under the influence arrests, 10 possession of substance arrests, five under the influence arrests, and two arrests regarding possession of drug paraphernalia.

Some of the weekend arrests were conducted by COBRA detectives from the Sheriff’s station, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

Saturday night, detectives canvased a location “where they had received word that gang members/associates were hanging out.”

One 18-year-old male arrested on a $90K forgery/fraud warrant and new charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and violation of probation. One 36-year-old male was arrested on a felony warrant for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor child. His bail was set at $215,000, according to Miller.

“Several other arrests in addition to the above were also made including four male adults who were drinking alcohol in public, three male adults in possession of narcotics and three male adults on vehicle code violations that included reckless driving and unlicensed driver,” Miller wrote.

  1. I appreciate that you are still able to carry this out and keep SCV one of the last remaining towns where some semblance of law and order are maintained. Those that do not like it can move out to any one of the crime welcoming towns in the San Fernando valley or the rest of LA, san bernardino, etc. Meanwhile, allow some of us to have a city in CA that prefers a safe town.

  2. Try typing in ‘arrests in Santa Clarita’ you will see all your law abiding neighbors; what a joke. Let’s see: drugs, prostitution, repeat DUIs, robbery, fraud, sex registration violation, corporal injury, battery, possession of obscene material of a minor and commercial burglary; all committed by community residents. SCV is no different than the rest of Los Angeles, it’s just less crowded. Guess your idea of a “safe town” is a bit tarnished, no?

    • It’s true, and for YEARS, our local Sheriffs Department here purposely fudged arrests and crime here to give the “illusion” that this town was safer than it actually is! It’s STILL done, tho to a lesser degree than before. It’s all about money, and they wanted to make SCV more attractive as a bedroom community. I remember back in the day when there was only a few homeless people here, and the Sheriffs would pick ‘em up and drive them to Watts and just drop them off in the street there! That’s how they dealt with the homeless. ‘I see trouble coming’, you’re right! It’s a joke, and the only thing different is here it’s less crowded ( but it IS catching up to the SFV)! And you only listed some of the more minor offenses!

    • Arn: Don’t forget, a large amount of these/those criminals are from out of town!! Stop trying to bring down our mostly decent middle class community with your excusing /condoning Liberal/Anarchist beliefs/lifestyle!

      • Nope The ones I listed are all committed by locals. Try again fool

      • JoJo, what’s wrong with you?! You’re a sick buffoon, pal! You feel the constant need to correlate whatever goes on or said to some ridiculous political, asinine belief of yours! I can’t understand why you always do this?? You’re a serious nut-case! Here I’m telling you the truth, and you wanna say some stupid drivel about anarchists or Liberals or whatever! I have 2 family members who were Sheriffs back then, and there’s no reason to make more out of it than it is! Just a FACT! This was actually fairly common knowledge at the time! Deal with it, man! SCV is actually becoming more crime-ridden than you know! Get your head outta the ground and see what’s really going on!

        • Arn: Look at the weekend crime stats! To tell the truth/facts is not asinine! To lie/cover-up facts/truths is worse than asinine, it’s being a traitor to basic humanity, which is what the Liberals are deceitfully doing! Look what the Liberals have done to the Left coast from Seattle to San Diego, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Chicago, LA, etc.!! It’s not being degenerated by Christians /Republicans!!!

  3. Thank you for your service!! We love our community and we love our LEOs? we wouldn’t have this town without your hard work enforcing law and order. ?????
