A Newhall man was arrested for attempted murder Wednesday.
Jaime Gutierrez, 33, from Newhall was arrested for attempted murder, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s arrest records.
Officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were unable to provide any information about the arrest.
However, this arrest comes on the heels of another person being shot on Fahren Court in Canyon Country around 10:15 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
About an hour after the shooting, deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect on Arch Street in Newhall.
A passenger in the vehicle fled on foot, leading to a deputy-involved shooting.
The suspect was transported to the hospital in critical condition and a firearm was located.
