Deputies arrested a burglary suspect after reports that the suspect got into a fight with the homeowner during a break-in near Valencia Saturday night.

The call came in around 10:15 p.m. for a home invasion in the 27000 block of Cherry Creek Drive. Deputies recieved reports that the homeowner was in a physical fight with the suspect, according to officials. However, by the time they arrived, the suspect had fled.

Deputies made contact with the suspect a block away from the initial report, and attempted to talk. The suspect refused to cooperate, forcing deputies to use a stun bag — a non-lethal beanbag shotgun — to subdue the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody seven minutes after deputies were dispatched.

No information about the suspect has been released by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
