A Palmdale man was arrested after he led the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on a high-speed chase on the 14 Freeway Saturday.

Around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, a CHP Newhall Area officer observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on the northbound 14 Freeway near Crown Valley Road in Acton, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“As the officer attempted to make an enforcement stop on the motorcycle, the rider failed to yield, leading CHP units on a high-speed pursuit reaching speeds of 125 MPH,” Burgos-Lopez said. “CHP units observed the rider making several unsafe maneuvers as he made his way through traffic endangering the motoring public. Units were ultimately able to make the rider yield on SR-14 N/B south of Ave P.”

Johnny Segura Andrade, 21, from Palmdale, was arrested for felony evading, according to Burgos-Lopez. 

He was transported and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
