With over 25 arrests over the weekend in Santa Clarita, some of the most notable arrests were for rape and child abduction.

Alexandro Martinez, 28, of Canyon Country, was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping an unconscious individual. Martinez is currently being held on a $100,000 bail.

Across town, 41-year-old Brian Powers was taken into custody for allegedly abducting a child on Friday.

There is no additional information on the arrests of Martinez and Powers. When new details regarding the arrests become available, they will be shared.

Additional arrests include a retired teacher being arrested for assault, two prisoners in possession of drugs, two individuals charged with domestic abuse and a 25-year-old male arrested for obstructing a peace officer.

Driving under the influence was the leading cause of arrest, leading to the detention of 11 individuals. There was also a pair of people who were booked for being publicly intoxicated.

  1. Why is Canyon Country the only location ever mentioned in these articles? The others are “across town” never named. Bad people live in all parts of this city, but only Cayon Country is the only one named. We are not the only “bad” part of town, but this has been going on for years! Ive ben here long enough to have heard it many times from all parts of the government and press. Even people from out of town have noted it. We are half of the city, so of couse we have all types of people.
