Robbery Suspect In Custody After String Of Crimes In Santa Clarita

style=”font-weight: 400″>A robbery suspect is facing a slew of felony charges, including making criminal threats and stealing a vehicle, after he allegedly committed a string of crimes In Santa Clarita Tuesday.

At around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia regarding an attempted robbery, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned the victim was out walking when a dark-colored pick-up truck parked in front of her,” Arriaga said.

A man reportedly exited the vehicle and approached the victim, demanding the cellphone she was holding, according to Arriaga.

The victim refused to give the suspect her cellphone, and the suspect reportedly attempted to grab it from her.  After the victim yelled for the man to leave, he eventually complied and drove away, according to officials.

About an hour later, deputies responded to the 25900 block of Tennyson Lane in Stevenson Ranch regarding a robbery, according to Arriaga.

Upon arrival, deputies learned a man matching the description from the previous call had reportedly stolen the victim’s cellphone and fled in a black pick-up truck.

While deputies were responding, a sergeant alerted deputies that a man matching the suspect description had driven alongside them at a stoplight on McBean Parkway, just west of Orchard Village Drive in Valencia, according to Arriaga.

“Deputies conducted a traffic stop and detained the male adult,” Arriaga said.

Both victims positively identified the man as the robbery suspect, Arriaga added.

As the investigation continued, deputies learned that the man had called his sister between the two robberies and threatened to harm her, Arriaga added.

The man is also believed to have made attempts to rob two additional Valencia businesses sometime Tuesday, according to Arriaga.

Additionally, the investigation determined that the suspect was in a stolen vehicle, which was reported in a hit-and-run collision on Starkus Way in Valencia earlier in the day.

Jagdeep Sohal, 43,  of Bakersfield, was arrested on robbery, attempted robbery, being in possession of a stolen vehicle, and criminal threats, all of which were felony charges, Arriaga added.

Sohal was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $0, according to arrest records.

  1. Bail set at $0 for felonies ? What’s this world coming to he will never come back once let go…

  2. Thanks to Gas-con and the Liberal ilk ruining our once wonderful country!! Look at what the Demonic Liberals have done from Seattle to LA, Chicago, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Kenosha, Philadelphia, NY, etc.!!

  3. In the last 28 days Santa Clarita has had:
    4 Rapes
2 Carjackings (including one at the corner of Bouquet and Vasquez Cyn)
28 Stolen cars (not including the two carjackings)

But we’re still doing better than City of LA. In the last 28 days they’ve had:
35 Murders (more than one per day)
48 Rapes (nearly two per day)
The San Fernando Valley alone has had 434 stolen cars in the last four weeks.

Yes, it’s entirely the fault of people like George Gascon and Gavin Newsom, but don’t call them “elected officials” and certainly don’t be foolish enough to think we can vote them out. These people didn’t win an election any more than Joe Biden did. The plain fact is that we no longer have a democracy in the USA. We have an autocratic dictatorship. To fix any of our myriad problems, including crime, step one has got to be the restoration of democracy in America.

    • well obviously were doing better then LA but also u gotta keep in mind how much smaller we are then SFV and LA. crime out here is getting bad especially since were such a small valley. even in stevenson ranch every night theres been something going on. this city isnt as safe as people think it is and there is bad people in scv, not every crime out here is caused by outsiders…

  4. Tap: Words/truths/well spoken!! You forgot KY gel hair Newsom, Liberal administrations & the dolt sheeple Liberals that voted those deceitful creatures into power/office!

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
