A Santa Clarita man was arrested on multiple felony narcotic charges, after deputies received an anonymous tip about the man allegedly selling drugs.
After Juvenile Intervention Team, (J-Team) deputies received several tips regarding a man selling narcotics within the Santa Clarita Valley, they proceeded to do surveillance in order to locate the individual, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
On Tuesday, Oct. 12 around 1:20 p.m., deputies were able to locate the suspect on Tyrone Avenue near Enadia Way in Van Nuys and conducted a traffic stop after he failed to observe several vehicle code violations, Arriaga said.
As the suspect exited his car, deputies observed drug paraphernalia and narcotics exposed within his reach, according to Arriaga.
“A search of his car resulted in the recovery of various forms of heroin, methamphetamine, prescription pills, fentanyl and contraband similar for use of sales of narcotics,” Arriaga added.
Jose Monje, 46, from Canyon Country, was arrested on three felony charges of being in possession of a controlled substance for sale of various narcotics and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, Arriaga added.
Monje was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $55,000, according to arrest records.
