Law enforcement agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley made a total of 29 arrests over the weekend for a range of offenses, according to LASD arrest logs.
Of the arrests, 18 were for misdemeanors and 11 were felony-related cases. Officers from the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area accounted for seven of the arrests, while the remaining cases were handled by deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Driving under the influence remained the most common offense, with 12 DUI arrests reported. Authorities also made five arrests related to domestic violence incidents.
Other arrests included one robbery, one petty theft, one battery, and one vandalism case involving property damage valued at $400 or more. Deputies also arrested individuals on drug-related charges, including two cases of possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, two cases involving possession of controlled substances or drug paraphernalia by individuals in prison or jail custody, and one additional controlled substance possession case.
Additional serious charges included one arrest for assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm and one arrest for making criminal threats intended to terrorize or cause fear.
