Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests Sees The Same Amount Of Bookings As Last Week

Santa Clarita weekend arrest remained the same compared to the amount of people booked into the Sheriff’s Station as the previous week, with drugs and alcohol once again making up a majority of charges.

Between Friday, April 1 and Sunday, April 3, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, and officers with the California Highway Patrol, (CHP) Newhall Area Office made 21 arrests, the same as the previous weekend in Santa Clarita.

Of the 21 arrests, 10 were for misdemeanor DUI, one for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale and another arrest for having drug paraphernalia, according to booking logs.

Other charges that saw multiple bookings included vandalism with three people being booked.

A Canyon Country resident was arrested after allegedly ripping off a neighbor’s “Ring” camera off the wall, before stealing a business sign later in the day.

Other crimes that made the booking logs this weekend included, robbery, being in possession of stolen property and domestic violence, according to booking logs.

Nine of those who were arrested were residents of Santa Clarita.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
