SCV Weekend Arrests Drop From Previous Week

Law enforcement agencies across the Santa Clarita Valley reported a total of 30 arrests over the weekend, marking a decrease from the 41 arrests recorded the previous weekend.

Of the 30 arrests, four were classified as felonies, while 24 were misdemeanors. Two cases did not have a stated charge level.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol accounted for 12 of the arrests, while deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station handled the remaining 18.

Authorities noted that 15 of those arrested were local residents, while 13 were from out of the area.

Driving under the influence made up the largest category of arrests, with 12 individuals taken into custody on DUI-related charges. Other arrests included three for domestic violence, four for possession of a controlled substance, and two for battery.

Additional charges reported over the weekend included evading a peace officer with disregard for safety, indecent exposure and unlawful entry of an occupied dwelling, possession of narcotic controlled substances, possession or purchase of controlled substances for sale, property damage, and being a fugitive from justice on a warrant.

There were also arrests related to drug paraphernalia in a correctional setting and possession of a substance similar to toluene.
