Sexual Battery Suspect Arrested After Grabbing Woman’s Buttocks

A sexual battery suspect was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a woman’s buttocks in Saugus Monday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a possible sexual battery call at 26615 Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station

“A male Hispanic adult reportedly grabbed a female’s buttocks and left the location on foot,” Arriaga said.

When deputies arrived, they detained a man matching the suspect description, according to Arriaga.

“During investigation, deputies learned the victim arrived at the business and found the suspect inside,” Arriaga said.  “She told him to leave. As the suspect was walking towards the exit, he grabbed the victim’s buttocks.”

The person detained was positively identified as the suspect.

Victor Lopez, 32, a transient, was arrested for misdemeanor sexual battery, Arriaga added.

Lopez was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody as of Tuesday, according to Arriaga.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
