A speeding enforcement operation conducted by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies resulted in 58 citations last week, officials said Wednesday.

“Between Dec. 9-15, motor deputies issued nearly 60 citations for unsafe speed on Bouquet Canyon Road and Railroad Avenue,” said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Periodically throughout the year, deputies enforce different safety operations in efforts to help keep pedestrians, cyclist and motorists as safe as possible.
During the week of Nov. 18-24, deputies targeted Golden Valley Road, along with other Santa Clarita roadways, looking for drivers who were exceeding the speed limit.
Deputies issued 98 citations, including one to a motorcyclist who was going over 100 mph, Miller said in a previous KHTS article.
“You’ve told us about areas that could use some attention when it comes to road safety, and we’re doing our best to address them,” Miller said.
Traffic deputies at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are reminding drivers to slow down.
“If drivers are continuously feeling the need to speed to get to where they need to go on time, they should leave a few minutes earlier,” said Sgt. Scott Shoemaker with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Desperately next sting operation on corner of Scott Ave. And McBean Prwy. Ave scott going east. Turning right on mcbean there are two right turn lanes. Never give pedestrians right of way two huge signs there. They almost hit u. Than flip u off. Would volunteer for this 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. main isdue. I have almost been hit numerous timez with my dogs scary. Please look into it.
One of those flashing signs that light up when you speed seem to slow the speeders down pretty good too, oh you can’t get money from them that way. but hey who doesn’t like a good holiday ticket ?
I got a ticket for cell phone The motorcycle cop drove by me at a red light I just had my phone on my console and looked at the time while at the red light. Pulled me over and gave me a ticket. Said I can’t hold it. I wish the cops. Knew the LAW The code says you can’t hold and operate Willkie driving. I was not driving and I was not operating the phone. I looked at it like I’m looking at a watch. Cops love to give tickets.

Good job Officers I see You all over town, and I like it. Are there any women motorcycle officers? If not why not? We could use six additional units to get inconsiderate drivers to pay for pedestrian safety.
