A suspect was arrested on the 14 Freeway near Santa Clarita after allegedly being in a stolen vehicle tracked by the owner.
Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area officers were notified of a stolen Mercedes on State Route 118 near Woodley Avenue, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Office.
“The Mercedes began traveling onto (the) I-405 (northbound) from SR-118 into the Newhall Area,” Burgos-Lopez said. “CHP Newhall Units began responding to the area.”
The stolen vehicle suspect, being electronically tracked by Mercedes, transitioned onto the northbound 14 Freeway.
CHP officers, with the help of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter, located the suspect north of Escondido Canyon Road.
A felony traffic stop was initiated, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Jeffrey Session, 35, from Los Angeles, was taken into custody for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, a felony, according to Burgos-Lopez.
Session was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

So arrested for a Felony. I hope he is still in jail. This crime should warrant 3 to 5 years in jail. Anything less is irresponsible and should not be tolerated. It would be nice if KHTS could follow up with names, bail amounts, court dates, conviction info. I would think that your reporters have connections to this type of info.
