Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are still seeking a shooting suspect,  11 months after he allegedly shot another man over a personal dispute in Canyon Country.

Detectives identified Kenneth Mitchelle, who was 26 at the time, of shooting Alondo Preston, also 26, in a drive-by shooting last August.

The shooting took place at the 18000 block of American Beauty Drive in Canyon Country at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015.

Detectives released suspect information quickly, as the victim and suspect allegedly knew each other, and the shooting involved a prior conflict between the two men.

“This was not a random shooting. The suspect and victim know each other,” Miller told KHTS AM-1220 at the time of the shooting. “The suspect and victim have a personal conflict.”

The suspect was believed to be driving a four-door silver sedan, Miller said

Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to search for a suspect and investigate in the incident.
