A Sylmar woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted a deputy after being asked to leave a party Saturday.

Around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, deputies were providing security at an event located in the 20800 block of Center Pointe Parkway in Canyon Country, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“They were notified by security that (a) female adult was advised to leave,” Borbon said. “Once deputies contacted her, the suspect was advised she needed to leave the event because she was trespassing.”

Despite deputies telling the suspect to leave the event, she continued to refuse to comply, according to officials.

“As the deputies attempted to detain the female, a brief struggle ensued, during which the suspect physically assaulted a deputy,” Borbon said.

Trinity Lerma, 54, from Sylmar, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

She was cited and subsequently released on citation to appear in court at a later date.
