Teen Hospitalized Following Hit-And-Run Crash, Driver Released On Citation

A Santa Clarita felony hit-and-run suspect was released from custody on a citation on Wednesday following a traffic collision that hospitalized a teenage pedestrian with “moderate injuries.”

Around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and David Way in Saugus regarding a pedestrian-involved traffic collision, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported that a white Ford Excursion hit a pedestrian and left in an unknown direction,” Arriaga said. “Deputies were able to locate the vehicle a short period later and detained a female adult pending investigation.”
The teenage pedestrian sustained “moderate injuries” and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment, according to Arriaga.

Summer Wilson, 43, from Santa Clarita, was arrested on felony charges of a hit-and-run causing injury or death, before she was released on a citation the following day, according to booking logs.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” Arriaga said.

Teen Hospitalized Following Hit-And-Run Crash, Driver Released On Citation

  1. People run that stop sign at the end of Copper Hill (which is where this happened) at high speed all day long. My kid got hit there, too. We complain, the city puts a cop there for a week handing out citations, and then it’s back to the same-old.

Apparently Summer Wilson works at SCOI, which is where her victim might end up for treatment, depending on their injuries. People get fired all the time for posting the wrong thing on social media- I wonder what you get for running over a kid on their way to school and then fleeing the scene?

  2. Wonder how she’d feel if someone did this to her loved one

  3. So let me get this straight. Felony hit and run. Teenager get hurt with moderate injuries (broken arm, leg etc) transported to the hospital. Woman that hits the victim skates out of jail because Gascon doesn’t want anybody in jail… Am I missing anything? Other than bail obviously.

  4. This is so sad! Why are we allowing this nonsense? Gascon MUST be recalled!!

    • In the neighboring San Fernando Valley, just in the last 28 days, there have been 4 murders, 9 rapes, 119 armed robberies, and 536 cars stolen. Crime has gotten completely out of control in LA County, thanks to the Democrats. Every Dem-run city in America is like this right now.
