A transient was arrested after he was found allegedly hiding in the bushes in the backyard of a Stevenson Ranch home in the early hours of Tuesday.

Around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 25800 block of Blake Court in Stevenson Ranch, regarding a prowler call for service, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported that an individual had climbed over a locked gate into a backyard and was looking into windows,” Miller said. “Deputies located the suspect hiding in the bushes.”

Erik Barrera, 31, a transient, was arrested for attempted burglary, a felony, according to Miller.

Barrera was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains in custody on $50,000 bail, Miller confirmed.
