Two Alleged Grand Theft Suspects Arrested In Santa Clarita

Two alleged thieves from Rosamond were arrested for grand theft early Wednesday morning by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies.

Around 4 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a possible theft on the 33900 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road in Saugus, said Deputy Mariela Picard, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle linked to prior theft-related calls at the location,” Picard said.

Deputies contacted a man and woman who were in the vehicle and determined them to be related to the reported theft call.

“During a search of the vehicle, deputies located expended brass casings in backpacks, along with tools believed to be used in the collection process,” Picard said.

Nicholas Acosta, 56, and Johanna Garcia, 43, both from Rosamond, were arrested for felony grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to Picard.

The suspects were booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and were released on Thursday morning, according to officials.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
