Two Arrested For Catalytic Converter Theft, Narcotics In Santa Clarita

Two men were arrested Thursday after deputies discovered them in possession of cut catalytic converters, narcotics, and more

Around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called out to investigate a possible battery between two men on the 26000 block of Avenue Hall in Valencia, officials said.

Instead, the two suspects involved were arrested after they were found in possession of cut catalytic converters, tools commonly used to steal the catalytic converters, narcotics, drug paraphernalia, pepper spray and more, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The males were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s station for multiple charges including theft, possession of narcotics, and receiving stolen property,” Arriaga said. “One of the males, who is a convicted felon, was additionally charged for felon in possession of tear gas while the second male was identified to also have an outstanding warrant.”

Arturo Castaneda, 59, was later released to appear in court at a later date, and Ricardo Vanrossen, 40, remains in custody as of Tuesday afternoon.

  1. These are just two out of a million scumbags that were caught and I’m
Sure that they barely even served a night in jail for the crimes they committed. Meanwhile… hardworking tax paying citizens most likely had to miss work and pay 2 thousand dollars for vehicle repairs because they couldn’t operate their vehicles because two “meth addicted fiends” tried to score a quick payday to buy more drugs. Yea t doesn’t matter if their caught because gascon just lets em out. Only way to control problem this is to cut off the bastards hands with their own sawzalls.

    • Professor. Being a little harsh don’t you think? They were going to recycle the catalytic converters to be able to buy baby formula and food for the family. If the government would provide more, they would not resort to what they needed to do. Someone needs to set up a GoFundMe for them to get them on the right path.

      • Whats really sad is those converters on the table are aftermarket pre cats that have almost no value maybe twenty dollars at best why would they be stealing ones with no value? Animals

      • The sarcasm on these replies is on point today.

      • Why don’t you invite them
Over for dinner and help them out since your so concerned for their welfare. Maybe they should stop reproducing and then they could feed their family by getting a real job. Mine was stolen at Magic Automotive last weekend. Problem is Ford no longer makes my converter for my diesel and one cannot use an after market one. So now what? Comifornia smog referee said we will have to decide what to do . So I have to wait 30 days for a decision? So how am I supposed to go to work now? Thank god I am moving out of this state!

      • Typical insane Dem response. Poor 59 year old needs to be able to buy baby formula? Did you not read the drug part? The government is the problem not the solution when will you all figure that out

      • Are you high??… Clearly can’t read. A gofundme …. WHAT THE!!@$$!!

  2. Off with their heads!

  3. So, they were felons caught with stolen property well in excess of $1000, one with tear gas, the other with a outstanding warrant. One is already out on the street again.

Does anyone question why LA crime is getting worse? No repercussions for their actions.

    • They grew up in bad families, are disadvantaged, dropped out of school, and are hooked on drugs. With a lot of taxpayer money we can turn them into sponges of public assistance, and train them to be robbers, thugs, burglars, and pharma-distributor independent contractors. With a clean slate they can acquire firearms and help the overpopulation crisis. How are they supposed to support their drug habits when they are incarcerated.
Actually, I believe their condition is terminal.

  4. No big deal thanks to Gascon and his cronies these two dirtbags will be back in business before the week is over.

  5. Despite their free taxpayer paid public schools, free bus rides, free breakfast, lunch & ? dinner, even for Illegal Aliens, that attempt to teach values, old fashioned all around education, the Creatures continue to take the easy way out—-guess it’s because they’re oppressed & are victims—-Idiot, gullible Sheeple voters! Wake up, not Woke up Sheeple!

  6. Let me help you guys out and give you a few more details about this case so you can more accurately make your comments. For starters the two in question have never even met before this incident. As for the catalytic converter s. They came off vehicles stored on my property that are being scrapped. The teargas in question is the type on a keychain that you get at an auto parts store. As for the other guy and his problem with drugs and baby issues I can’t really say anything because I don’t know the person. At all.
