Two suspects were arrested for attempted murder last week in connection with a Saugus shooting in June.

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, deputies responded to a shooting near Bouquet Canyon and Seco Canyon Roads in Saugus.

When units arrived on scene, they located a motorcycle rider who was shot one time in the back, according to officials.

The victim was taken to the hospital and survived, according to officials.

Deputies located several spent shell casings over a quarter-mile stretch of Bouquet Canyon Road.

After an extensive investigation by SCV Sheriff’s Station Juvenile and Gangs (JAG) detectives, two suspects were identified.

Anthony Lopez, 19, from Newhall, and a 17-year-old whose identity was not released due to them being a minor were arrested for attempted murder.

The two were booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

The case remains under active investigation by detectives with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
