Two Suspects At Large After Carjacking Multiple Vehicles During Pursuit

Two suspects are at large after they carjacked at least three vehicles during a multi-agency pursuit Sunday evening that passed through Santa Clarita.

After 10 p.m. Sunday, deputies with the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near the 14 Freeway and Rancho Vista Boulevard in Palmdale.

The suspects fled south on the 14 Freeway at high speeds.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) took over the chase as it headed into the Santa Clarita Valley, according to initial reports.

CHP officers successfully flattened the tires of the stolen truck on the 5 Freeway near Roxford Street in Sylmar.

The pursuit exited at Roxford Street, before re-entering the northbound 5 Freeway heading the wrong way, according to officials.

The occupants of the chase attempted to carjack a vehicle on the freeway before crashing into a tanker truck, successfully carjacking the semi, as seen on TV.

The women fled northbound on the 5 Freeway and exited at Calgrure Boulevard before heading back south.

Shortly after the semi-truck was taken, a firearm was recovered in the initial stolen pickup truck.

The pursuit suspect ditched the semi-truck at the 10 Freeway and Alameda Street in Los Angeles, where they carjacked a pick-up truck.

A chase continued before they carjacked a BMW and sped away. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Boyle Heights, where LAPD officials believe the suspects carjacked a fourth vehicle.

Law enforcement lost the pursuit, and the two suspects remain at large.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
