Two suspects were detained after an alleged Newhall robbery Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The incident was reported at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near Walnut Street and 15th Street in Newhall, according to Sgt. Dan Welle with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies are still investigating,” Welle said at about 4 p.m. “There is a containment set up in the area.”

One of the suspects was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit a block away from the alleged crime, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The second suspect was also taken into custody in connection with the reported Newhall robbery, according to a deputy on scene.

A firearm was recovered from one of the suspects, according to a reporter on the scene.

No injuries or shots fired were reported in the incident, according to Sheriff’s officials.
