Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies received reports of an armed robbery near the Stater Brothers near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway in Canyon Country, according to officials.

“Two are in custody,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

While deputies were responding from multiple different directions, one of the deputies located the two suspects near Via Princessa and Weyerhauser Way, according to officials on scene.

All westbound traffic on Via Princessa was temporarily closed while deputies took the individuals into custody.

An ambulance was called to the scene, where the individuals were taken into custody, however, no one was transported to the hospital, according to officials on scene.

Two Suspects In Custody After Canyon Country Armed Robbery

  1. This started as a shoplifting crime at Stater Brothers Market. I saw them run out of the store right in front of me, followed by a big security dude who tackled the guy which broke the liquor bottles he had stolen. The security guy ran after them down the parking lot aisle but when the guy pulled a gun he stopped. I’m glad they were caught!

  2. 2 are in custody, what did they & others look like?!?! How do we help neighborhood watch & other decent citizens to be aware of the who is causing the crimes?!?! Stop the PC in reporting, otherwise they’ll be more victims! Tell the truth/facts!!

  3. And we have no idea of the names of the perps?

  4. if they had a LA county mask on then no one saw them. That’s the problem.. They have to wear mask in stores so why not rob it, cant see their face.
This town has had a ton of robberies in the last few months, because of the mask wearing.. Please let me know if I’m wrong but 2 plus 2 is 4.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
