A Valencia containment was set up Wednesday night after an individual crashed an allegedly stolen vehicle following a brief pursuit.
Deputies were notified of an alleged stolen vehicle located on Garzota Drive in Saugus at around 7:15 p.m. with a person still sitting in the vehicle, according to officials.
Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station began to follow the vehicle as it left the Saugus neighbourhood, heading westbound on Newhall Ranch Road. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle crashed and the driver, said to be the only occupant, bailed on foot.

A containment was set up in the area surrounding the 29000 block of Smyth Drive in Valencia.
“They were behind a possible stolen vehicle,” said Deputy Ortiz with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Information Bureau. “Right now the area is still contained and they are looking for the subject.”
The suspect led a short foot pursuit into the nearby wash, where deputies lost sight of the individual.
Deputies were still on scene searching as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
