Valencia Containment Suspects Facing Multiple Felonies, Including Child Endangerment

A pair of suspects taken into custody during a Valencia containment Wednesday have been identified as parolees from Bakersfield, and both are being charged with multiple felonies after fleeing from deputies, officials said.

Deputies were patrolling the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall Wednesday regarding a report of three suspicious males in a vehicle, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies located a vehicle matching the description in the mall parking lot,” Miller said. “The vehicle fled the scene and ultimately ended up in a single-vehicle collision after the suspect drove over a curb and sidewalk.”

The suspects reportedly jumped out of the car, and deputies immediately detained one male adult and one juvenile.

“There was still one outstanding suspect, and so deputies set up a containment in the area,” Miller said.

Eventually, the outstanding suspect was located in a parking lot near the City of Hope building, Miller said.

“The two adult suspects taken into custody were both determined to be parolees from the Bakersfield area,” Miller said.

The juvenile is not facing any charges and was released to relatives.

“Stolen property from stores inside the mall was located inside the suspect’s vehicle,” Miller said.

The driver of the vehicle, Ronnie Wiley, 26, of Bakersfield, is facing charges of evading a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, child endangerment and receiving stolen property.

The passenger, Sidney Walker, 26, also of Bakersfield, is facing charges of receiving stolen property and resisting a peace officer.

Both suspects are also facing parole violations, according to officials.

The two were transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, with Wiley’s bail set at $25,000 and Walker’s bail at $10,000, according to arrest records.

  1. Only $25,000 and a $10,000 bond? That seems a little low for parolee’s facing multiple felony charges, lol.

  2. Paroles wont have bail, if they are on Parole it’s an automatic hold. The hold supersedes the bail.

  3. Can’t believe they turned the juvenile over to relatives without charges!

    • Someone in Sacramento still believes there is hope for the poor little fella. After all, he was probably forced into the car by Ronnie and Sidney. “sarcasm”

Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
