A Valencia man was arrested Friday after he allegedly struck his father in the head with an alcohol bottle following an argument.

On Friday, deputies responded to a hotel located in the 27500 block of Wayne Mills Place in Valencia regarding an assault with a deadly weapon, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect… allegedly became involved in an argument with his 71-year-old father,” Miller said. “The dispute escalated, and (the suspect) reportedly grabbed a glass alcohol bottle and struck the victim in the head.”

The victim was treated on scene by paramedics, according to officials.

Zackariah Walker, 22, from Valencia, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery, according to Miller.

Walker was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
