A 30-year-old Valencia man was arrested Monday evening in connection with an alleged grand theft at a Santa Clarita business on Magic Mountain Parkway.

Around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 24, deputies responded to a store located in the 24400 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia regarding a reported grand theft, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Miller said the suspect, later identified as Andrew Rodriguez, allegedly entered the store, filled bags with beauty products and exited the location without paying for the merchandise.

Loss prevention personnel detained Rodriguez until deputies arrived on the scene.

Deputies arrested Rodriguez on suspicion of grand theft. He was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, where he was booked.

Rodriguez was subsequently released on Feb. 25 and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, Miller said.
