A Valencia woman was arrested after she allegedly threw a wine glass at her mother during an argument over the weekend. 

Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to an assault where a woman allegedly threw a wine glass at her mother in the 24000 block of Corte Ala in Valencia, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect and victim allegedly got into a verbal argument, during which the suspect grabbed a wine glass and threw it, striking the victim in the face,” Miller said. “The victim declined medical transport.”

The suspect, Mya Jones, 26, of Valencia, was arrested by deputies on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

As of Monday afternoon, Jones remains in custody with bail set at $30,000.
