A Palmdale man was arrested on a slew of warrants after he was stopped for registration violations. 

Around 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area units conducted a traffic stop on a white Infiniti G35 on Sand Canyon Road east of the 14 Freeway in Canyon Country due to a registration violation, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“Upon contacting the driver, it was determined he had multiple warrants for his arrest,” Burgos-Lopez said. “The warrants included a 20,000 dollar warrant for assault and battery, a 50,000 dollar warrant for vandalism and a 5,000-traffic related warrant.”

Ruben Martinez, 26, from Palmdale, was placed under arrest for his warrants out of Palmdale, according to officials.

He was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
