A Santa Clarita woman was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a stolen vehicle after it was found out of gas blocking traffic.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle blocking the roadway on Newhall Avenue in Newhall, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“When deputies arrived to check on the welfare of the driver, they discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Nevada,” Sheriff’s officials said.

The driver told deputies that the car ran out of gas and that her boyfriend was getting a gas can, according to officials.

“Further investigation revealed she had two outstanding warrants for her arrest and was currently on probation,” Sheriff’s officials said.

Kelci Baizai, 22, from Santa Clarita, was arrested for felony vehicle theft, as well as her warrants and probation violation, according to Sheriff’s officials.

She was transported and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and remains in custody on no bail as of Thursday afternoon.
