A Winnetka man accused of raping a woman in a Valencia parking lot is due back in court next month.

Etienne Juarez Rosas, 24, of Winnetka is set to appear in court on Dec 7 to stand trial for an incident in Oct. 2015 where is alleged that Rosas sexually assaulted a woman in a Valencia restaurant parking lot.
Both sides met in court on Monday for the trial setting, where it was determined that the case was ready to go to trial.
Rosas plead not guilty last year in Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch, according to Ricardo Santiago from the District Attorney’s office. He was arrested Nov. 4 2015 and his preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 19 2015.
The sexual attack allegedly happened on Oct. 25 2015, inside the victim’s vehicle while it was parked at the restaurant on the 27500 block of Wayne Mills Place, the prosecutor said.
If convicted as charged, Rosas faces a possible maximum sentence of 75 years to life in state prison.
Rosas was held on $4 million bail and has been in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility since July of this year.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Clarita Station.
