Multiple firearms, silencer, and ammunition were recovered Friday when an Idyllwild woman was arrested in Newhall.
On Friday, deputies with the Summer Team were doing routine patrolling when they observed a vehicle in violation of multiple vehicle codes, which prompted a traffic stop, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“During a traffic stop, deputies contacted the female driver, later identified as (Suspect) and learned she was in possession of firearms,” Arriaga said.
During a search of the suspect, deputies retrieved a loaded revolver handgun, Arriaga said.
“A search of (suspect) vehicle resulted in the recovery of a rifle, replica rifle, silencers, an abundance of ammunition, a stun gun baton, and a butterfly knife,” Arriaga added.
Oceana Cotton, 26, of Idyllwild, was arrested for possession of an assault weapon, possession of a silencer, possession of a baton, carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of an unregistered firearm, concealed firearm in a vehicle and possession of a switchblade, according to Arriaga.
Cotton was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station, where she remains as of Monday morning.

They have to keep her as collateral, so hubby/boyfriend identifies himself.
Except for the silencer and the unregistered hand gun all of that is completely legal and the silencer and hand gun are constitutionally legal.
Any woman coming to crime ridden LA needs to be strapped.
Funny how looting burning raping and stealing will not get the DAs attention hit, being ready to defend your self will keep her in custody.

The rifle is a Hi-Point 995 pistol caliber carbine. The revolver is a Smith & Wesson 642 in .38 Special. I’d be interested in seeing her rap sheet and a tox screen before rendering judgement as to whether this is a nice young woman with expired tags who just wanted to defend herself, or if this was a criminal here to prey upon SCV citizens. The ghetto guns and the silencer make me lean toward the latter. I think there’s more to this story but the LASD isn’t allowed to say.
How stupid can the people in this country continue to be and it is only getting worse. We all should be prepared to go to war at any given second right now , the u.s. is more unstable and more ignorant every day to the world leader’s beliefs goals and point of view of the future and how it should be, not just for the entire world but particularly this country in general. Miss cottons personal life is not of anyone’s business unless she is in the act harming another for no reason. The laws we have on guns already go against our constitutional rights hear as it is. It is all human kinds birth right to be able to defend themselves agianst any kind of threat. As well as ours the people to say in example the people are to be together as one and bare arms if the government is at any kind of threat to us our families our food our jobs our homes or go against the constitution. This is so the can not murder steal or harm us with the power we give them while they are keeping things safe and organized in a government ran by us the people .To make things even more difficult for the people hear right now in this time day and age we are separated into every way that we can be race religion financial backing and on and on but told this is illigal unless of course it is not obvious enough for anyone to complain about it . Quite simply we are more separated then we have ever been. So if for any reason the wrong type of people get into positions of power witch I believe they have and want to depopulate the world I believe they are trying to do right in front of our eyes, we are just sopost to trust the peace keepers an military to keep our families safe. Ludicrous they are ran by our government hello our politicians and the laws mostly created by and for them. Come on people this is the land of the free where we have the right to bare arms if we don’t grasp how important this right is then we don’t deserve to have it the more we give it away or let them be agianst us but Cary weapons the less chance the people will have without a option of defense we have no way to be safe from anything. Miss cotton was in the San Bernardino mountains idyllwild in particular has a astonishing rate of missing people particularly woman do the research urself. I don’t believe it is right for this type of thing to be turned around by government funded killings of our people blamed on us to remove our birth right of self defense let alone our constitutional rights and anyone who is to stupid to see all this type of stuff happening in our country today I am sure if it gets any worse witch it well they will learn the hard way when it’s their family and they have no means to pertect then due to laws confiscation and sick powered individuals.Just because someone is armed don’t make them a criminal or a bad person at all it makes them a smart individual so being armed is not the problem or the crime we need to worry about it’s the other way around we need alot more prayer and real education on who what and how things are going hear in the USA before judgment on this type of situation should be able to be made or even really spoken about
