A Huntington Beach woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly brought drugs into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, officials said.
On Tuesday around 11:30 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near Benz Road and Alaminos Drive in Saugus, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Station.
“The driver was found to be in possession of meth, narcotics paraphernalia and pepper spray,” Miller said.
Deputies initially arrested Natasha Hollis, 32, of Huntington Beach, on three misdemeanor charges: narcotics addict in possession of pepper spray, possession of methamphetamine and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, according to officials.
After deputies transported Hollis to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for booking, she was advised about not bringing prohibited items into the jail, Miller said.
“During a search, Hollis was found to have a bindle of heroin on her person,” Miller said.
Hollis was additionally charged with a felony for bringing contraband into the jail.
“Had she disclosed to the deputies that she had the heroin prior to entering the jail, it would have been a misdemeanor,” Miller said.
Hollis’ bail was set at $26,750, according to arrest records.
