Woman Leaves Purse With Unregistered Handgun In Shopping Cart

An unregistered handgun and stolen credit cards were found in a woman’s purse after it was accidentally left in a shopping cart.

The woman accidentally left her purse in a grocery cart and an honest Santa Clarita Valley citizen turned the purse into the store, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

When the employee looked inside, they saw a gun and called the Sheriff’s Station, according to officials.

When deputies arrived they collected the purse, Borbon said.

“In addition to a loaded, unregistered handgun, deputies found fraudulent social security cards, a large amount of U.S. currency and credit cards in different peoples’ names,” Borbon said.

The owner of the lost purse was identified and arrested, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The suspect had prior arrests for ID theft.

  1. Lock this A-hole up for the next 10 years. She has no right to be among civil society.

  2. Good for her, I mean bad that she left it behind but glad to see her using her right to protect herself. Every person that does not have a criminal record should carry a gun in any state

    • Jim,
She has a record for ID theft. So is it OK for her to carry a weapon?
She is not a law-abiding person, so frankly she should go to jail. and if her crimes are a felony, no more gun for her.

  3. That’s methed up.

  4. That’s hysterical, I just hope the useless leaders is the county don’t just slap her hand and let her go with time served

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
