Classified Stealth Technology Training Program Coming To College Of The Canyons

According to an announcement from College of the Canyons (COC), this fall, COC will be the only community college in the state to offer a Low Observable (stealth) Coatings Application Program.

In a recent interview on KHTS’s Morning Show with Tori and Kyle, John Milburn and Justin Wallace from COC came to talk about this new opportunity.

This classified program is set to literally be working on stealth technology and classified information that will lead to a career in the field. Many of us have dreamed of careers working on spy gear and this is pretty close to it!

“At College of the Canyons, we are always seeking new programs that will result in high-paying jobs and good careers for the individuals that go through our programs,” said John Milburn, Classified Administrator and Executive Director of COC’s Employee Training Institute.

Every participant will have to go through an extensive background check before being admitted into this competitive program.

The 130-hour course will feature both classroom, virtual reality, and on-cite instruction. The program has been developed by Northrop Grumman Corporation and COC was chosen to host this opportunity.

In order to participate, participants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must pass CASAS tests for Math and English
  • Background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Must be able to use a virtual system for training

The pilot program currently has 14 cohorts and depending on the growth of the program, COC officials are discussing adding more cohorts, even possibly doubling the class size.

According to Justin Wallace, another Classified Administrator, the ideal candidate for this program is detail-oriented and meticulous, comfortable in virtual reality, works well in a structured environment, and has the ‘big picture’ mindset of how these new technologies will impact armed forces overseas.

COC currently has a rigorous recruitment system through the city and county, but interested individuals are always encouraged to reach out to the program through their website by clicking here.
