College of the Canyons is set to host a series of informational presentations to answer questions about enrollment, academic opportunities and transferring potentials for prospective students, officials said Wednesday.
“We’ll have staff there to walk the students through the Canyons Promise Program and the various educational options and opportunities,” said Kari Soffa the director of outreach and school relations at COC. “The staff will be available to assist with any questions the students might have.”
The information nights are expected to include a guide on admissions, registration and important deadlines. It also covers The Canyons Promise Program which offers two years of free tuition for qualifying students. Transfering, various certificate and associate’s degree programs, and other educational pathways will be discussed as well, according to school officials.
The first sessions will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, with additional presentations on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Canyon High School’s Performing Arts Center.
There will be two sessions each night, the first from 6 to 7 p.m. and again at 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to COC officials.
The 6 p.m. session on Nov. 13 is set to address specific questions relating to students interested in the support services provided by the college’s Disabled Students Programs and Services.
The 7:30 p.m. session on Nov. 14 at Canyon High School is conducted in Spanish, officials said.
