The Newhall School District, (NSD), has appointed a new director of Instruction, Assessment and Accountability, who is expected to start next month, officials said Thursday.
Kate Peattie, who has been working with the NSD since 1977, has been chosen as the new Director of Instruction, Assessment and Accountability for the district, according to officials.
Prior to Peattie’s new position, she served as a Board member of the Santa Clarita Valley Association of California School Administrators, according to NSD officials.
“I am confident that her experience will serve the students, staff, and community immensely and we feel fortunate that she has chosen to share her skills with us as the Director of Instruction, Assessment and Accountability,” NSD Superintendent Jeff Pelzel said.
Peattie earned the Santa Clarita Valley Association of California School Administrators Charter Leadership Award in 2020, and was nominated for Administrator of the year, according to NSD officials.
Graduated with a BA from Sonoma State University and a MA in Cross-Cultural Arts, Peattie also received Educational Administration from National University and California State University in Bakersfield, according to NSD officials.
Peattie has a passion for public education and looks forward to supporting the students, staff
and community of the Newhall School District, NSD officials said.
Peattie is excited to work collaboratively with NSD teachers, staff, parents and students and is expected to work hard to ensure high achievement for all students, carrying forward Newhall’s tradition of excellence, NSD officials said
Peattie is expected to start Thursday, July 1st.
