Third Annual Educator Grant Award Ceremony Announced By Castaic Education Foundation

On Wednesday, the Castaic Education Foundation (CEF) announced that its third Annual Educator Grant Award Ceremony would be held in March of 2022.

The third Annual Educator Grant Award Ceremony is scheduled to take place in March according to the CEF, during which grant recipients are set to be declared.

“The Education Foundation will award five grants to Castaic Union School District (CUSD) teachers totaling $13,000 to ensure their students have access to the latest technology and programs, giving them the competitive edge they need for academic success now and in the future,” stated Castaic Union School District officials.

The CEF has, since 1994, offered $250 to $7,000 CUSD educator grants to allow for innovative teaching and purchasing classroom supplies, according to district officials.

After this grant cycle, about $325,000 in funding will have been given to educators since 2007, according to officials.

“The Teacher Grants Committee is always excited to see the diverse requests from our educators,” said CEF Chairperson Julia Phippen. “They are constantly striving to provide students with new learning opportunities, experiences, and materials to support and strengthen the whole child.”

This year’s grants are slated to provide for a variety of things, including school gardens, science curriculum, flexible classroom seating and sensory room equipment.

“We are always grateful for the continuing support of community and business partners who allow CEF to provide grants that sustain and enrich the academic experience of the students of the Castaic Union School District,” district officials said. “As one of our premier sponsors, Shawn and Alisha Fonder of Fonder-Solari, Inc. will be our guest presenters at the upcoming Educator Grant Award Ceremony on Wednesday, March 9.”
