Every 15 Minutes is back at Canyon High School, giving students a realistic look at the dangers of drinking and driving. As part of the demonstration, emergency vehicles and a simulated crash will block off Nadal Street in front of the school.

The two-day program began Monday morning, with students being called out of class by the “Grim Reaper” every 15 minutes, representing the statistic of four people killed every hour by drunk driving.

These students, considered “dead,” are placed apart from the rest of their 1,200 classmates, who then watch a simulated two-car collision in front of the school.

The simulation, also featuring students, includes sheriff’s response, fire department rescues, transportation of the injured by ambulance, and the “dead” being taken away by the L.A. County Coroner’s van.

Canyon High School is located at 19300 Nadal St, Santa Clarita, CA 91351
