“Gail’s done a nice job for us over the last few years,” said Hart district governing board member Joe Messina.

“As a 27-year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley my heart is with the community and the Hart School District,” she said, “however, I could not pass up this amazing professional opportunity.”

Her last day is scheduled to be Jan. 9, and she starts her new job Jan. 12, according to district officials.

“I wish her well in her new endeavor, but I do not envy her new drive,” Messina joked, regarding the commute to the West Los Angeles area.

She was not immediately available for comment.

  1. Gail is leaving very big shoes to fill as she moves on to her new position – everyone involved with the Hart District knows how valuable she has been to this community. Gail also served a vital role on the board of the WiSH Education Foundation and we will be very sad about the gap she leaves behind. Best of luck to an SCV gem!
