“I think it’s so important to keep on performing in Santa Clarita,” Burrows said. “I can reach my audience in my hometown, but then extend that audience once I go to further venues and keep the people who love my music close to me.”

Burrows first performed in front of a large audience when she was 9 years old, more than seven years ago.

“I’ve been playing guitar and piano … ever since I really could,” Burrows said.

In 2016, Burrows won the local leg of the annual Country Showdown, a national music contest where over 400 radio stations compete to put forth the next big country music act. Burrows, the KHTS contestant for that year, reached the semi-final regional competition in New Mexico.

Additionally the rising star has performed at historic venues such as the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and has opened for top-of-the-charts bands like the Swon Brothers.

“I’m putting together my first album” Burrows said. “Everyday I work on several new songs with my Dad and continue perform live as much as possible, so you’ll be hearing some broadcast recordings from me in the near future.”

Despite her success, Burrows is still a student at West Ranch High School, balancing academics and working at the West Ranch TV station with making music.

“I’ve got to continue getting those good grades, but I really want to focus on my music career,” said Burrows. “I have set my priorities and I continue to work very hard to earn my place in Country Music.”

But even on tour, she sees every performance as a learning experience.

“Over the past, it’ll be about 8 years now, what I’ve learned the most is that it’s so important to connect with your audience,” said Burrows. “It’s really cool to write original tunes because you can give that experience to other people, and make them feel that connection with you.”

But it’s her fans and people supporting her in her hometown that Burrows said are the reason she is where she is. After her Concerts in the Park set, she thanked all of her Santa Clarita fans and the event organizers (the city of Santa Clarita) who put the concert together.

“I just want to thank everybody for this wonderful opportunity,” she said. “And I just couldn’t be here without them.”

  1. Touring? Where? 10,000 people? Not even close. Maybe 3,000 people at Central Park. Responsible journalism…I don’t think so. Please don’t insult your audience or her. You should be ashamed…

  2. There were definitely not 10,000 at this concert.

  3. Nice of you to edit the title, but the picture still says 10,000. You’re not doing anyone favors.
