Presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, Concerts in the Park are free events put on by Santa Clarita every Saturday night from July 8 through August 26.
This Saturday, Kalimba, the Spirit of Earth, Wind and Fire, considered the best tribute band to Earth, Wind & Fire in the entire country, will take the stage at Central Park, according to a Santa Clarita press release.
“Out of 1,000 other bands that I have heard play this material, Kalimba is the first band that gets it like it’s supposed to be played,” said former Earth, Wind & Fire guitarist Sheldon Reynolds in 2013.
The Pacific Northwest-based band was formed by lead vocalist Thomas “Chazz” Smith and drummer Jeff Haile. Over time, the band grew and began to attract national attention. As a result, Kalimba, The Spirit of Earth, Wind and Fire has performed across the country at casinos, state fairs and some of the most prestigious jazz clubs, said Santa Clarita officials.
The Concerts in the Park family-friendly atmosphere invites all Santa Clarita residents to enjoy music all summer long at Central Park. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets. Food vendors will be on-site selling a variety of concessions and snacks.
A free bicycle valet service is provided by the SCV Bicycle Coalition, allowing residents to bike to and from the concert and avoid the hassle of finding a place to park.
