On Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, October 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Santa Clarita animal rescue will be selling homemade treats for festival-goers in an effort to raise money for their cause.

“We’re getting ready for our first fundraiser at the Gilchrist Farm Harvest Festival, and are planning to have everything from pumpkin bread to animal-themed cupcakes,” said Melissa Lampert, the rescue’s co-founder.

All proceeds from the bake sale will go directly toward the mission of Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary to rescue animals in need and find them loving forever homes.

“Because we’re brand new donations are somewhat hard to come by, so we pay for almost all of our expenses out of our own pockets,” Lampert said. “That includes day-to-day care like food and cat litter, basic supplies and veterinary expenses, which adds up fast.”

By picking up a freshly baked loaf of pumpkin or banana bread to take home or enjoying homemade cookies or brownies with loved ones at the festival, animal lovers can help save the lives of animals in need right here in Santa Clarita.

For those who can’t make it to the Gilchrist Farm Harvest Festival, Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary is looking for bakers to donate their homemade goodies before each bake sale date.

“We’ll be collecting donations of bake sale items a day or two before each event, and would love for animal lovers in the community to get involved in helping us make the fundraiser a success,” Lampert said.  “The support from our community as we’ve gotten the rescue off the ground has been amazing, and we’d love to keep it going so we can save even more animals.”
